Isabelle Autissier became the first woman to sail around the world solo in the 1991 edition of the BOC Challenge. An agricultural engineer by training, she has sailed all the world’s oceans. In 2005, she launched and skippered an Antarctic expedition under the name “Salut au Grand Sud”, accompanied by the writer Erik Orsenna, following the paths of contemporary and historic adventurers.
