“The Arctic is the best illustration of the importance of environmental aspects on the big issues of the 21st century”
Frédéric Lasserre teaches geography at Laval University in Quebec and is a researcher with the Institut québécois des hautes études internationales. Since 2005, he has been in charge of a research group working on Arctic geopolitics. He is particularly interested in the political and economic issues concerning the opening of the Northwest Passage. In 2006, he joined the NGO le Cercle Polaire’s expert committee.
