Scoresby Sound in late August, the sun casts a violet light as it dives below the horizon. The submerged part of an iceberg is from five to eight times larger than the part projected above water.
Magnus Elander is a photographer specialising in the High Arctic, where he has travelled on 40 occasions. His photos have been published in renowned magazines (National Geographic, BBC Wildlife, Illustreret Videnskap) and he recently published two books, “In the Arctic Wind” and “Sirius-An eye in the Far North”. He won BBC’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year award in 2003.
