Shri Rasik Ravindra is the director of the National Centre for Antarctic and Ocean Reasearch which coordinates and implements the Indian Antarctic program, including the maintenance of India’s permanent stations in Antarctica, Dakshin Gangotri built in 1983 and Maitri built in 1989. Since 2007, he is a member of the executive committee of the Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programmes (COMNAP).
