Lucia Simion has been a scientific journalist and nature photographer for 20 years. A physician by training, she has taken part in 3 trips to the sub-Antarctic islands and 8 expeditions to Antarctica. Author of a book of photos of Antarctica, she has been a member of the IPY Education & Outreach team since 2006 and a member of the Advisory Council of the French Austral and Antarctic Territories (TAAF), since 2009.
