Research Associate in PACTE, at the Institute of Political Studies in Grenoble, Cécile Pelaudeix has developed researches on the geopolitics of the Arctic, the European Union Arctic Policy, Inuit governance, the Canadian cultural policies in the High North. In 2010, she organises the International Arctic Conference: Geopolitical Issues and Equations in the 21st Century in Lyon with the Centre for Canadian Studies, Grenoble, and with the collaboration of the Centre Jacques Cartier. She is member of the scientific committee of the conference The Arctic in Transition: Regional Issues and Geopolitics, Chaire Raoul-Dandurand en études stratégiques et diplomatiques, UQÀM, 2011, and recently takes part in several conferences on geopolitical issues in the Arctic: International Arctic Conference: Geopolitical Issues and Equations in the 21st Century (Lyon, 2010), The Arctic and the European Union: Environmental and human challenges (Rovaniemi, 2011), Fourth Akureyri Symposium on Polar Law (Nuuk, 2011), The European Union, Canada and the Arctic: Challenges of International Governance (Ottawa, 2011), The Arctic in Transition: Regional Issues and Geopolitics (Montréal, 2011). Co-editor with Alain Faure of the book What Holds the Arctic Together? (in process), she is involved in the Seventh Framework Program of the European Commission: ACCESS, Arctic Climate Change, Economy and Society, « Governance, Sustainable Development and Synthesis », 2011/2014.
She has crossed the Cumberland Peninsula and has realised several expeditions across the Arctic, in Alaska and in Baffin Island where she stayed in Inuit communities (Broughton, Pangnirtung, Iqaluit, Kinngait (Cape Dorset) ) and remote islets. She made the ascent of Everest South Summit
