Francisco Hervé is a professor of geology at the University of Chile. Since completing his PhD in 1966, he has taken part in eight Chilean scientific expeditions and two German scientific campaigns in Antarctica. Chile’s representative on the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) for 20 years, he is currently carrying out a comparative study of the geology and paleobiology of Patagonia and Western Antarctica.
