A mother walrus and her calf – Arctic Ocean, Coburg Island, Canada
A mother walrus (Odobenus rosmarus) at the surface protecting her calf. With a size between 2 and 3 m, she can weigh up to 1 ton and be quite agressive and very dangerous with her tusks, in order to protect her calf.
Submarine photographer since 1996, with a passion for nature and marine life, Pascal Kobeh goes around the world as a professional photographer and dives in tropical waters as well as Polar Regions. He has been twice in Antarctica, three times in the Arctic and once in Svalbard. He have been Principal photographer for the Jacque Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud film “Oceans”, and participated at many other shoots for cinema and television. He also wrote some books and his work is regularly published in French and foreign press.
