L’heure bleue – Svalbard
Recent warmer winters in the arctic have been categorized by multiple freeze thaw cycles which can lead to hard ice layers on the tundra as seen here. This can greatly limit the availability of food for the Svalbard reindeer over the winter months and result in reductions in the population.
