Jean-Yves Le Déaut is a member of Parliament for Meurthe-et-Moselle. PhD in science, he taught biochemistry at the Science Faculty of Nancy from 1984 to 1986. Elected to Parliament in 1986, he wrote a parliamentary report on the exploitation of mineral resources in Antarctica. In 2008, he proposed an amendment concerning Arctic governance at the French Parliament. He is a political consultant for NGO le Cercle Polaire.
