“Antarctica is a unique source of planetary environmental knowledge”
Christo Pimpirev started his polar activities as leader of the first Bulgarian Antarctic expedition in 1987-1988. Since 1993 he has been the leader of 16 other Bulgarian Antarctic expeditions as well as chairman of the Executive Board of the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute. He has been vice president of the Council of Managers of National Antarctic Programs since 2006 and director of the National Center of Polar Studies since 2007.
