Ian Stirling has had a lifelong passion for studying predator-prey relationships of marine mammals in polar ecosystems and their conservation. For 42 years, he has worked on the ecology, behavior, and conservation of seals in both polar regions and white bears in the Arctic. He is an Emeritus Scientist with Environment Canada, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.
