Aant Elzinga is professor emeritus at the University of Gothenburg, Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science. A Dutch-Canadian living in Sweden, he is affiliated with the Swedish IPY Committee. Former president of the European Association for the Study of Science and Technology, his current research for the International Polar Year is the history of research and scientific cooperation in Antarctica.
